For Surviving Friends

I have no poetry in me.
None left.
Vacant as the lot next to the tracks,
rivers of shattered glass
beside the rusting rivets.
Bruised and disarticulated crates.
Pebbles, bottlecaps.
Tiny tenacious weeds and yellow lichen.
But no poetry.
Sorry.
